Approaches & Methods
Integrating Multiple Methodologies
Though formally trained in psychodynamic therapy, over the years I have come to embrace a more post-modern approach to psychology.
Post-modern therapists question the ability to know ultimate truth from using a singular orientation, basically fearing any attempt to oversimplify the complex reality of a person’s life experiences.
In a true post-modern way, I not only use my psychodynamic skills in session, however bring into the room my advanced training in the following orientations:
Humanistic orientations
- Attachment Therapy
- Solution-Focused
- Emotional Focus Couples Therapy (EFT)
- Accelerated, Experiential, Dynamic Psychology (AEDP)
- Interpersonal Neurobiology
- Attachment Therapy
- Non-violent Communication
- Collaborative Problem Solving
- Spiritual Psychology
Third wave cognitive and behavioral orientations
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Internal Family Systems
Post-modern psychotherapies
- Narrative Therapy
- Structural Family Therapy
The following videos provide introductory information about some of the Counselling and Therapeutic methodologies I provide.
