Whether you prefer using video-based platforms (i.e. Zoom) or the telephone, online counselling enables you to maintain your self-care and personal progress even if you cannot be physically present with your Counsellor.

Most of our Clients Prefer Online Counselling

Online Counselling is an ideal solution for anyone who is unable to come into the office due to issues of mobility, time constraints, transportation issues or illness – or just prefer to seek help in the privacy of their own home.

Most importantly, online therapy enables you to keep progressing with your treatment.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, PTSD, trauma, depression, anger, addiction, or need help with relationships or parenting, our experienced Counsellors offer you a safe, non-judgemental space to thrive.

And, you can request a free 30-minute consultation to learn if our approach is right for you.

Join our Growing List of Clients Already Taking Advantage of the Many Benefits of Online Counselling

Many of our clients already take advantage of the many benefits and convenience of video-based and telephone counselling.

Convenience

You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home or office. And, there isn’t the annoyance of traffic and parking.

Mobility and Accessibility

You may prefer Online Counselling if any of the following are true for you:

  • You have a physical disability that prevents you from travelling or attending a face-to-face appointment
  • You would not be physically comfortable in an office setting

Remote or Rural Residence – Connect From Anywhere in Canada

One key benefit of online therapy is that you can choose a therapist who has the specialty training that is applicable to you without having to consider location.

We have many clients who do not live nearby, so commuting to our office is out of the question. If any of the following apply to you, then our tele-counselling services are right for you:

  • You live in a small town or remote community with little or no access to face-to-face counselling
  • It is too costly to travel to another community to receive counselling

Anonymity

Some people find that they can trust much more quickly using phone or video-based counselling. It makes them feel comfortable and safe in their own environment. This means – for some clients – it is possible to accomplish more in a shorter time period with phone counselling than in a traditional face to face approach.

Depression or Anxiety-Related Concerns

If you suffer from depression or anxiety, online counselling may be a good option for you. If any of the following rings true for you, consider giving online this a try.

  • Leaving your home feels overwhelming
  • You worry that you will have a panic attack
  • Face to face contact with a counsellor feels too emotionally intense
  • Commuting or being in an unfamiliar environment is very stressful
  • You find you can concentrate better over the phone
  • You feel a greater sense of control over the phone or video and opening up feels easier
  • You have a heightened sense of shame or stigma about receiving counselling or the issues you are needing help with, and the thought of avoiding an office visit just feels easier

Satisfaction

Research has shown that the satisfaction for video-based and telephone counselling is high among clients.

Secure & Private

Online Counselling is very similar to face-to-face counselling/therapy. It is an emerging way to receive therapy through a secured platform to facilitate video sessions.

Using video conferencing platforms clients can instantly connect with our counsellors from anywhere in Canada through a secure and easy to use platform (JanApp or Zoom),  which is HIPAA, PIPEDA and PIPA compliant.

You Can Combine with In-Office Sessions

Some clients may choose to use online counselling exclusively, whereas some may prefer traditional in-office counselling and use the remote option only occasionally. Clients can schedule with their therapists to work out a combination of the two modalities that best fits their needs and lifestyle.

Scheduling and Payments Are Easy with Convenient Client Portals

We make scheduling and payments easy through our Jane client portal. You can schedule a free consultation and we will be happy to explain how to book and pay online.

Understandably, many clients worry about the security of these online sessions. Please rest assured that your health information is completely secure and the platform used is entirely PIPA, PIPEDA and HIPPA compliant. Sessions are never recorded and your information is completely encrypted and secured.

InnerSight Counselling takes client security regarding health information very seriously.

Getting Started – We Offer a Free Phone Consultation So You Can Feel Comfortable Before Committing

We offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. This enables you to decide if we are a good fit and can meet your needs.

Book Your Appointment For Either a Day or Evening Session

You can arrange a telephone or online appointment at your convenience – during the day or evening. Contact us via phone or email and our receptionist will book your initial Free Consultation.

If you are in our area, we suggest you come and meet us face to face for your initial interview. However, if this is not possible, we can certainly accommodate your needs.

Online Counselling is not for everyone, however.  If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, psychosis, mania, are actively self-harming or are engaging in other behaviour that compromises your safety, we are not able to provide online counselling. If you are in crisis and need to talk with someone, please call 1-800-SUICIDE. It is a free call 24/7 service available to all British Columbia residents.
