Approaches & Methods

Integrating Multiple Methodologies

Though formally trained in psychodynamic therapy, over the years I have come to embrace a more post-modern approach to psychology.

Post-modern therapists question the ability to know ultimate truth from using a singular orientation, basically fearing any attempt to oversimplify the complex reality of a person’s life experiences.

In a true post-modern way, I not only use my psychodynamic skills in session, however bring into the room my advanced training in the following orientations:

Humanistic orientations

  • RAttachment Therapy
  • RSolution-Focused
  • REmotional Focus Couples Therapy (EFT)
  • RAccelerated, Experiential, Dynamic Psychology (AEDP)
  • RInterpersonal Neurobiology
  • RAttachment Therapy
  • RNon-violent Communication
  • RCollaborative Problem Solving
  • RSpiritual Psychology

Third wave cognitive and behavioral orientations

  • RCognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • RDialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • REye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • RMindfulness Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • RInternal Family Systems

Post-modern psychotherapies

  • RNarrative Therapy
  • RStructural Family Therapy

The following videos provide introductory information about some of the Counselling and Therapeutic methodologies I provide.
